Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III (NS)

Reports to the Warden IV. Responsible for daily maintenance operation of a medium‑custody male adult prison facility.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain a comprehensive preventive and routine maintenance program emphasizing safety and security.
- Supervise, plan, organize, and assign work to the maintenance support group.
- Provide technical supervision and monitor the work of Maintenance/Construction Technicians.
- Manage staff performance by setting clear expectations and ensuring awareness of primary job responsibilities.
- Monitor the maintenance budget.
- Associate’s degree in construction management, air conditioning, heating & refrigeration technology, industrial maintenance technology, or mechanical engineering technology, plus three years of progressive experience in construction or facility maintenance, including two years of supervisory experience.
- Or high school diploma/GED, plus five years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction, including journey level experience in at least three building or mechanical trades and two years of supervisory experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current EPA Type I, II, III, or Universal technician certification if required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart
F.
- Knowledge of methods and processes, tools, equipment, and materials used in the repair of buildings and mechanical trades.
- Experience estimating costs to repair and replace parts for operating equipment and building structures.
- Knowledge of safety standards.
$55,221 - $96,639 (State grade NC15).
