Job Overview
Temporary Maintenance/Construction Supervisor I (S), Grade NC13. The position is located at 2787 Caledonia Drive, Tillery, NC, Halifax County with the Department of Adult Correction – Correction Enterprises. Pay: $35.00 per hour, effective July1,2025.
Key Responsibilities- Train, manage, and supervise 12–15 offenders and staff in the construction of modular or tiny homes at Correction Enterprises’ Roanoke River Farm.
- Utilize knowledge of repair, maintenance and construction techniques, tools, methods, materials and equipment used in the building and mechanical trades.
- Apply building codes and all other rules and regulations governing repair, maintenance and construction of facilities.
- Perform journey level work in a variety of trades and read schematics and blueprints.
- Train, direct and supervise subordinates and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Minimum education and experience:
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three (3) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction, including journey level experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special qualifications:
Current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a TypeI, II, III or Universal technician may be required as specified by 40

All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Permanent and time‑limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time‑limited position in order to work in a temporary position.
