Electrician – JLL
What this job involves:
The Electrician is responsible for performing skilled electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities in support of Amgen’s biopharmaceutical operations. This role supports critical utility systems and GMP-regulated environments while adhering to all safety, quality, and compliance requirements mandated by Amgen and JLL.
The Electrician works as part of the onsite JLL Facilities Operations team and collaborates closely with maintenance technicians, engineers, safety, and client stakeholders to ensure reliable and safe electrical infrastructure.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Electrical Operations & Maintenance- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including:
- Power distribution systems (low and medium voltage)
- Lighting systems (interior, exterior, and emergency lighting)
- Motors, VFDs, controllers, and control panels
- UPS systems, generators, and associated transfer equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical assets in alignment with CMMS work orders and SOPs
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests and electrical service calls, including after-hours support when required
- Support electrical systems serving GMP manufacturing, labs, warehouses, and cleanroom environments
- Execute work in compliance with GMP, GxP, and data integrity requirements
- Maintain proper documentation for electrical work supporting regulated spaces
- Participate in shutdowns, commissioning activities, and system testing as required
- Follow all OSHA, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety standards
- Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety practices, and job hazard analyses
- Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal electrical codes
- Support site safety programs, audits, and inspections
- Accurately document work performed within the CMMS (e.g., Maximo, Corrigo, or equivalent)
- Update redlines, labels, and panels as required
- Communicate system issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to site leadership
- Work collaboratively with JLL technicians, engineers, and supervisors
- Interface professionally with Amgen facilities, safety, engineering, and operations teams
- Assist with vendor oversight and escort contractors as needed
- Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Demonstrated experience working with electrical distribution systems and controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams
- Working knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and NFPA standards
- Basic computer skills and comfort using CMMS systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, GMP, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting critical facilities
, laboratories, or clean rooms - Familiarity with UPS, generators, ATS, and emergency power systems
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience working within a structured IFM or corporate facilities environment
Location: Onsite - New Albany / Central Ohio
Shift: 12hr 6:00pm-6:30am Sunday-Tuesday & every other Wednesday.
Salary / Comp: $32,21 - $46,63 | $67,000.00 - $97,000.00
