Industrial Maintenance Technician / Industrial Electrician

This role supports a high-volume trading card printing and packaging facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical production equipment. As an Industrial Maintenance Technician or Industrial Electrician, you ensure equipment uptime by quickly diagnosing issues, performing reactive and preventive maintenance, and collaborating closely with production and engineering teams. You work on complex mechanical systems, industrial electrical systems, and PLC-controlled equipment to keep printing, finishing, and packaging operations running safely and efficiently on a 2-2-3 rotating 12-hour shift schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including conveyors, printing presses, and packaging machinery in a high-volume production environment.
  • Perform repairs on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, air valves, bearings, shafts, gears, and drive components to restore equipment to safe, reliable operation.
  • Replace and repair mechanical components such as motors, belts, chains, rollers, and assemblies to minimize downtime.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies, prioritizing urgent issues to maintain equipment uptime.
  • Document all repairs, adjustments, and maintenance activities accurately within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Support the development, improvement, and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership teams to improve equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all facility safety procedures and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems and production equipment supporting printing and packaging operations.
  • Diagnose electrical faults such as shorts, blown fuses, loose contractors, wiring failures, and motor issues to identify root causes of failures.
  • Trace circuits and perform electrical testing using volt meters, amp meters, and ohm meters in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Troubleshoot equipment including UV drying systems, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels to restore proper operation.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to plan and execute effective repairs.
  • Work with PLC-controlled equipment utilizing Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi systems to support automated production lines.
  • Assist with implementing preventive maintenance strategies for electrical systems and contribute ideas to improve equipment reliability.
  • Ensure all maintenance work, both mechanical and electrical, is properly recorded in the CMMS for traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Use personal standard maintenance hand tools safely and effectively while performing daily maintenance tasks.
  • Engage in frequent communication with production and engineering teams to coordinate repairs, minimize disruption, and support continuous operation.
Essential Skills
  • Mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, printing, packaging, or production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, air systems, and general machinery repair.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively for mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of motors, contractors, relays, fuses, control circuits, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Ability to utilize electrical test equipment, including volt meters, amp meters, and ohm meters, safely and effectively.
  • Strong root cause troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve underlying equipment issues.
  • Requirement to provide and maintain a set of personal standard maintenance hand tools.
