INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER LEAD -

Hiring Range: $52,730.00 - $71,154.00
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Determine applicant/client eligibility for Food and Nutrition Services programs.
- Serve as lead worker over a unit of a single program area performing all functions: intake, processing, and review.
- Allocate at least 25% of time in lead worker capacity.
- Perform eligibility determination functions as an Income Maintenance Caseworker II.
- Execute a wide range of tasks in the eligibility determination/redetermination process requiring in-depth knowledge of income maintenance programs and functional processes.
- Resolve client appeals of actions taken by income maintenance caseworkers.
- Analyze program-wide problem areas and recommend corrective actions, including specific retraining or targeted training for staff.
- Operate independently with responsibility for resolving complex problems that can impact clients and the agency, with minimal supervisory review.
- Considerable knowledge of NC FAST and Social Service programs.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to research, analyze, and interpret automated system problems.
- Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public, and public officials to obtain data and explain rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Requires two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or an associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, human services, secretarial science, or a closely related field with at least two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience including interviewing and evaluating data; or a high school diploma with at least five years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience including interviewing and evaluating data.
NCFAST CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT
Positions requires NC FAST certification within 90 days of hire.
WORK LOCATIONThis position will be required to work in office and remotely.
