Overview

The Deep Tech Program supports interdisciplinary work in AI, semiconductors, and other deep technologies, including the partnership with OpenAI and the Spring 2026 AI Infrastructure event.

• Draft content for newsletters, blog posts, and social media to highlight research and programming.
• Support projects in the AI Metascience program associated with Duke’s OpenAI partnership.
• Assist in the planning, outreach, and execution of the Spring 2026 AI Infrastructure event.
• Collaborate with associates, faculty, and student researchers across the Deep Tech sectors to produce cross-sector insights and outputs.

• Bachelor’s degree required; coursework or experience in technology policy, engineering, or public policy preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, semiconductor policy, or other deep technologies.
• Excellent writing, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $19.06 to USD $28.85. Duke University considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Your total compensation goes beyond the dollars on your paycheck.
