Java Developer - Asset Mgmt team
Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Java Developer to join the team responsible for our high-volume managed account platform. This role is central to developing and maintaining the core financial data processing and portfolio construction engines. You will be tasked with building resilient, scalable microservices that handle complex data intake and movement across a cloud-native ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities- Microservices Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java/Spring Boot microservices within an AWS EKS environment.
- Data Persistence & Integration: Manage complex data mapping and persistence using my Batis
, ensuring seamless interaction with large-scale Oracle databases. - Event-Driven Architecture: Implement robust data pipelines and inter-service communication using Kafka to handle high-frequency financial data.
- Batch & Workflow Management: Develop and optimize automated batch processing jobs using Autosys
, integrated with PL/SQL for heavy-duty data manipulation. - Quality Engineering: Drive a "test-first" culture by utilizing ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development), writing expressive tests in Groovy/Spock
, and mocking dependencies with Wiremock
. - Observability & Dev Ops: Take ownership of the full lifecycle of your code, from CI/CD deployment to monitoring production health via Datadog
.
- Languages & Frameworks: Expert-level Java and Spring Boot
. - Data Layer: Strong experience with my Batis and expert-level PL/SQL (Oracle).
- Messaging: Hands-on experience with Kafka for real-time data streaming.
- Testing & Quality: Proven track record with ATDD and testing frameworks like Spock (Groovy) or JUnit.
- Cloud & Dev Ops: Experience deploying and managing containers via Docker and AWS EKS
; proficiency with CI/CD pipelines.
- Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS services including DynamoDB and S3
. - Tooling:
Experience with
Wiremock for API simulation and Autosys for job scheduling. - Monitoring: Experience creating dashboards and alerts in Datadog
. - Domain: Prior experience in Financial Services or Fin Tech is a significant advantage.
