About the Job
About the Job The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join the ROSA Fleet Manager team. Fleet Manager is responsible for provisioning and life cycling Managed Open Shift services on AWS.
In this role, you will develop new features and maintain our Red Hat Open Shift Container Platform customer services. We'll need you to have excellent technical and communication skills, as you'll work closely with developers and Site Reliability Engineers within Red Hat and in the open source community.
What you’ll doPlay an active part in developing various projects around Open Shift Customer services that allows customers and System Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to manage their Open Shift clusters
Create and guide new feature development; contribute to projects in Golang
Be responsible for our product quality, participate in peer code reviews, continuous integration (CI) and delivery (CD), respond to security threats
Coordinate with team leads, architects and other engineers on product design and architecture
Work with our Red Hat's global customer support team and partner support teams in resolving customer issues
Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing LLMs (e.g., Google Gemini, Claude, etc), as relevant, for tasks such as brainstorming solutions, deep research, summarizing technical documentation, drafting communications, summarizing complex technical information, and enhancing problem-solving efficiency across the development lifecycle.
5+ years of experience working in a Linux environment with at least one language like Golang(preferred), Python, Java, or C or C++ Experience with microservices architecture and concepts including APIs, versioning, monitoring, etc.
Experience with container-related technologies (Kubernetes, Open Shift, etc.), virtualization, or distributed systems
Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure
Ability to examine various technological areas deeply and deliver solutions
Great communication and collaboration skills, with a solid attention to detail
Ability to quickly learn new technologies
Proficient written and verbal English communication skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent working experience
Familiarity with Dev Ops or SRE background
Open source development experience

Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
