What You'll Do
- Build and ship full-stack features using Ruby on Rails, Postgre
SQL, and modern front-end technologies
- Write comprehensive automated unit and integration tests for all code
- Deploy to production daily using trunk-based development and feature flags
- Participate in daily standups and bi-weekly sprint planning sessions
- Collaborate with Staff Engineers who help guide and unblock your work
- Mentor Associate Software Engineers through pairing and code review
- Instrument features for observability, monitoring performance and errors
- Work with QA engineers to ensure quality through manual and automated testing
- Participate in pair programming sessions (encouraged but optional)
- Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and Git Ops workflows on Google Cloud Platform
- Report directly to the Director of Engineering
- Collaborate daily with your squad (5-6 engineers, QA engineer, Staff Engineer)
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers in sprint planning and standups
- Coordinate with Engineering Project Manager (product owner/scrum master)
- Engage with the broader engineering team of 12+ developers across time zones
- Strong experience building production full-stack web applications
- Expertise in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL
- Proven ability to deliver features on schedule with high quality
- Strong written and spoken English (professional Spanish is a plus)
- Pragmatic "get stuff done" mindset
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD practices
- Comfort working remotely and asynchronously across time zones
- Collaborative approach to problem-solving and knowledge sharing
- Backend:
Ruby on Rails, Postgre
SQL, Redis, Sidekiq
- Frontend:
Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus), React, Tailwind CSS, Material UI
- Mobile:
Hotwire Native (iOS/Android)
- Infrastructure:
Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, Git Ops
- Testing:
Ruby & RSpec (unit/integration), Playwright (QA automation)
- Tools: VS Code, Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, Figma, Miro, Jira, Slack
- Approach:
Server-side rendering with progressive enhancement, trunk-based development, feature flags, daily deploys
