Senior Python Developer

The Senior Python Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical enterprise applications with a strong focus on backend development, API integrations, and system modernization. This role supports a core monolithic platform built with Python and Django while driving architectural improvements, mentoring engineers, and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Python, Django, Type Script, API development, and full-stack application engineering.

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python and Django.
• Enhance and support a core monolithic application responsible for processing and orchestration.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services for internal systems.
• Build and enhance full-stack applications with a strong emphasis on backend development and Type Script.
• Develop and maintain integrations supporting enterprise platform functionality.
• Perform system modernization, performance improvements, and platform stability enhancements.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions.
• Participate in production support and on‑call rotations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product, platform, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote software engineering best practices.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering standards.

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python development.
• Full‑stack development experience with a strong backend focus.
• Extensive experience developing RESTful APIs and service‑oriented architectures.
• Strong experience with Type Script for frontend and backend development.
• Experience working with MySQL databases.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, and application development best practices.
• Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and deliver scalable solutions.

• Experience in healthcare technology, clinical laboratory, or genomics environments.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud‑native application development.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized application deployments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience designing and maintaining enterprise API platforms.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude or Codex.
