Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site leadership role for a Head of Junior Competitive Development at Hollow Rock Racquet & Swim Club in Durham, NC.
The position is responsible for overseeing and elevating the club’s Junior Competitive Pathway, with primary focus on Select and High Performance players.
The role combines high-level on-court coaching with organizational leadership responsibilities, including the development and execution of training strategies designed to enhance player performance and long-term progression.
Key responsibilities include managing and leading a team of coaches, organizing competitive programming, tournaments, and training schedules, as well as supporting the overall structure of the junior pathway.
The individual will also be responsible for implementing best practices in competitive junior development, evaluating program effectiveness, and driving continuous improvement across all performance levels.
Role Structure: Approximately 70% on‑court coaching and 30% administrative leadership.
Qualifications- Strong ability to assess player performance and training effectiveness
- Experience in team management and staff leadership within a coaching environment
- Organizational and program management skills related to competitive player development
- Ability to structure training groups, pathways, and coaching assignments
- Effective communication skills with athletes, parents, and staff
- Experience working with high-level junior and tournament players preferred
- Previous leadership experience in tennis coaching, sports performance, or player development environments is highly valued
- Playing background at the professional, ATP, or high-level collegiate level is considered a strong advantage
