CDL Truck Driver
Columbus, MS
ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for safely operating company trucks to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced heavy civil construction environment.
- Safely operate company trucks (dump truck, service truck, water truck, etc., depending on license class and endorsements).
- Haul materials such as dirt, gravel, asphalt, aggregates, equipment, and job-related supplies to designated locations.
- Perform proper pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery tickets, etc.
- Assist with loading and securing materials or equipment to ensure safe transport.
- Communicate and coordinate with dispatch, foremen, and project managers to fulfill daily hauling needs.
- Follow all company safety procedures, traffic laws, and DOT/FMCSA requirements at all times.
- Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or equipment needs immediately.
- Keep trucks clean, fueled, and in proper working condition.
- Provide general labor or assistance on job sites when hauling needs are slow, if required.
Skills:
- Valid CDL
- Clean driving record that meets company and insurance requirements.
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol testing (pre-employment and random).
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA driving regulations and proper load securement.
- Experience operating dump trucks or hauling construction materials preferred.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
All candidates must be able to pass the following:
- Drug Screen
- Background Screening
- MVR Screening
