Atlantic Tire Distributors in Edenton, NC, is currently seeking a full‑time Delivery Driver – CDL to join our team. Summary

Drive a tractor‑trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). May be required to unload truck; as well as other duties as assigned by the manager. Requires a commercial drivers' license.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
  • Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
  • Properly document goods delivered or loaded.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
  • Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
  • Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two‑way radios.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment – Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, or box trucks.
  • Getting Information – Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Handling and Moving Objects – Using hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Working Directly with the Public – Greet customers in a friendly manner.
  • Performing General Physical Activities – Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates – Providing information to supervisors, co‑workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e‑mail, or in person.
  • Inspecting Equipment – Inspecting equipment to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Static Strength – The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Reaction Time – The ability to quickly respond to a problem when it appears.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
