Full‑Time CDL Class A Driver / Furniture Mover

Location:

Charlotte, NC

Salary: $27.00 to $29.00 per hour plus benefits.

American Furniture Rental, Inc. has over 50 years of experience in the furniture industry and serves residential, commercial, event, and trade show customers across the region.

• Operate company vehicles safely and professionally.
• Pick up and deliver merchandise according to scheduled routes, including NC, VA, MD, GA, and TN.
• Verify deliveries match invoices and shipping documents.
• Maintain vehicles and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Communicate customer feedback and maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist with shipping and receiving as needed.
• Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
• Overnight travel required up to three days per week (hotel and per diem provided).

• Valid Class A CDL, clean driving record, and DOT physical.
• Ability to pass DOT regulations, pre‑employment drug test, and background check.
• Experience in furniture handling or delivery preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional, courteous attitude; bilingual preferred.
• Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., climb stairs, bend, and stay active for extended periods.
• Basic tool knowledge (cordless drill, screwdriver, etc.).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to operate a 26’ box truck.
• Availability to work rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
• Organization and time management skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem‑solving oriented.
• Basic math knowledge, organization and reading skills.
