About the PositionThe Inventory Clerk maintains inventory levels and accuracy in a distribution center. This role is responsible for reporting, physical inventory, system audits, and utilizing the inventory management system to prepare and track materials and products in preparation for shipping and receiving demands to meet customer needs. Various sites may require additional support based on the nature of the business, including product holds/releases, recalls, returns, and industry‑specific practices such as food safety.
Functions- Maintain perpetual inventory of materials and products and generate applicable inventory reports.
- Perform daily cycle count activities and inventory audits; track and monitor all damaged product in inventory and provide necessary reports to leadership.
- Verify clerical inventory records against physical inventory counts; investigate and report discrepancies.
- Coordinate product recalls, holds/releases, and infestation audits.
- Monitor pest control program if required at site.
- Ensure facility is inspection ready at all times (e.g., SQFI, FDA or other customer needs).
- Facilitate quality/regulated training and coordinate the site’s quality management program.
- Maintain the site’s quality management portal and draft or revise site SOPs as needed.
- High School or GED required; associate degree or two years of equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or distribution environment; industry‑specific (e.g., food grade) experience may be required.
- Familiarity with ISO requirements preferred.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Attention to detail.
