The NC State Highway Patrol is seeking an enthusiastic team member to join our X7 Logistics Unit as an Auto Parts Associate. The Auto Parts Associate will support the overall operation of the State Highway Patrol Auto Parts and Office Supplies Warehouse by processing parts and supply requisitions, maintaining inventory, receiving and distributing automotive parts, supplies, and equipment, and providing support to Highway Patrol garages across the state.

Management Prefers (Optional)
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, including maintaining inventory.
  • Experience issuing, stocking, and requisitioning supplies.
  • Experience operating warehouse material-handling equipment, such as a tow motor, forklift, or pallet jack.
  • Experience using SAP or a comparable computerized inventory management system.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including word, excel, and outlook.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Process and accurately fill requisitions for automotive parts, shop supplies, and auto repair equipment requested by Highway Patrol garages across the state.
  • Receive, inspect, store, issue, and distribute automotive parts, supplies, and equipment and identify discrepancies or damaged shipments.
  • Maintain accurate computerized inventory records and process packing slips, parts bills, and other inventory-related documentation.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and notify the Auto Parts Warehouse Supervisor when stock levels are low.
  • Prepare, package, label, load, and stage parts, supplies, and equipment for distribution to Highway Patrol garages.
  • Communicate with Highway Patrol garages and agency personnel regarding requested parts and supplies and provide assistance with inventory and repair information entered into SAP.
  • Maintain warehouse parts and supplies in designated storage locations in a safe, neat, and orderly manner.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as a tow motor and hand jack and assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Serve as a secondary courier and operate a small delivery vehicle, such as a van or pickup truck, when needed.

  • Typical work schedule:
    Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m.

    -5:00 p.m.
  • Ability to regularly lift, move, load, and unload items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and climb into and out of delivery vehicles.
  • Ability to operate warehouse material-handling equipment, such as a tow motor and hand jack.
  • Ability to operate a small delivery vehicle, such as a van or pickup truck, as needed.
  • Possession of a valid NC Driver's License by the date of hire is required. The selected finalist must have an acceptable driving history, free of serious motor vehicle violations.
