Port Operative

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Port Operative on a 7 month contract based in Hartlepool.

Role Summary

* The Port Operative role, within the Site Operations Department, will be multi skilled and work within a team to carry out operations efficiently, effectively and in a safe manner, operating plant, equipment, and support tasks across all areas of the site.
   This is a site-based role with work primarily based in Teesside England at Able Seaton Port. Willingness to work flexible hours as required for 24/7 operation within a multi shift pattern and within a permanent team.

Responsibilities

* Operating heavy machinery, such as Telehandlers, Forklifts and MEWP's when required.

* Climbing to heights and conducting work example – Slinging and Signalling.

* Port Operations and logistics. (Stevedoring)

* Follow instructions from supervisors.

* Carry out any other tasks deemed necessary by site team.

* Ensure our policies and procedures are applied and complied with on assigned projects.

* Report any EHS incidents.

Requirements

* Ability to use basic hand tools and HYTORC equipment desirable.

* Mechanical comprehension desirable.

* Previous experience working as a Port Operative / Stevedore / Multi-skilled Operative is highly desirable.

* IOSH / CCNSG Safety Passport

* FLT NPORS CAT B / C highly desirable

* NPORS N138 Telescopic Handler highly desirable

* IPAF MEWP Operator’s Licence highly desirable

* A40 Slinger Signaller

GWO, Working at Height, First Aid, Fire awareness, medical (essential).

* OG UK Medical

* Extremely H&S conscientious always

* Aptitude to learn new skills and have a flexible outlook.

Fire awareness

* Flexible approach to all aspects of site activities

* Basic IT skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.

* Ability to work with all levels of management, engineering, and trades (internally and externally).
