Job Description & How to Apply Below
Industrial Machinery & Automation
North East England | £35,000–£40,000 depending on experience
Company van | Early Friday finish
We are looking for an electrically biased Field Service Engineer to install, service and repair automated machinery at manufacturing sites. One day you might be commissioning new equipment and showing operators how to use it. The next, you could be tracing a controls fault and getting a machine back into production.
What you’ll be doing
Install and commission industrial machinery, then train customer teams on its operation.
Carry out planned servicing and breakdown repairs across electrical, mechanical and control systems.
Diagnose faults involving PLC-controlled equipment, pneumatics and hydraulics.
Keep service records up to date and explain your findings and recommended repairs to customers.
Join a one-in-seven out-of-hours rota once you’re confident working on the equipment. What you’ll need
A City & Guilds or similar electrical or electromechanical engineering qualification, plus a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, with confidence working on single-phase, three-phase and low-voltage systems.
A good understanding of PLCs and automation, plus working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
A full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, with some overseas travel possible.
Experience with materials handling, pneumatic conveying or process cooling equipment would be an advantage.
What’s on offer
£35,000–£40,000 depending on experience.
Monday to Friday working week with an early Friday finish.
Company van, laptop and mobile phone.
25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a 5% employer pension contribution and additional wellbeing benefits. Interested? Apply with your CV or contact Katie Pure Talent Group for a confidential chat.
