Job Description & How to Apply Below

A Stage Manager at CCT is the organizational guru and communication hub of the production. Their role ensures everything runs like a well‑oiled machine. Here are their key duties:

1. Planning and Scheduling:
Creating rehearsal schedules, maintaining calendars, and keeping everyone informed about timelines and deadlines.

2. Rehearsal Management:
Attending rehearsals, taking detailed notes on blocking (actor movements) and technical needs, and ensuring the director’s instructions are clearly documented.

3. Communication:
Acting as the liaison between the director, cast, crew, designers, and producers to ensure everyone is on the same page.

4. Prompt Book Creation:
Compiling the "bible" of the production—this includes the script with blocking, cues, and other critical notes.

5. Coordinating Technical Elements:
Collaborating with the technical director and crew to integrate lighting, sound, props, and set changes smoothly.

6. Calling the Show:
During performances, the stage manager cues lighting, sound, and scene changes to ensure the production flows seamlessly.

7. Problem-Solving:
Handling issues or emergencies that arise, from misplaced props to actor absences, with calm and quick thinking.

8. Backstage Supervision:
Overseeing the backstage environment during performances to maintain order and focus.

9. Supporting the Cast and Crew:
Providing encouragement, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive working environment.

10. Consistency:
Ensuring that every performance is true to the director’s vision by maintaining consistency across the run.

Stage managers are vital for turning the creative vision into a reality by managing the behind-the-scenes chaos with grace and precision.
