Role Description

The Pediatric Dentist is full-time based in Dyer, IN, responsible for providing comprehensive dental care to infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting examinations, diagnosing oral health conditions, developing treatment plans, and performing restorative and preventive procedures such as fillings, sealants, fluoride treatments, and cleanings. The role involves communicating clearly with children and caregivers, educating families on oral hygiene, growth and development, and preventive care, and ensuring a calm, supportive environment that reduces fear and anxiety.

The Pediatric Dentist collaborates with the clinical team, maintains accurate and timely documentation, adheres to all safety and infection control protocols, and participates in practice initiatives that enhance patient experience and care quality.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Medicine and Dentistry, with the ability to integrate general health considerations into dental treatment planning.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Pediatric Dentistry, including behavior management, preventive care, and age-appropriate treatment approaches.
  • Proficiency in Oral Surgery procedures commonly performed in a pediatric setting, such as extractions and minor soft-tissue surgeries, when indicated.
  • Comprehensive skills in Dental Care across diagnosis, restorative treatment, and ongoing maintenance of oral health for children and adolescents.
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school; completion of a pediatric dentistry residency program.
  • Active state dental license (or eligibility for licensure in Indiana); board certification or eligibility in pediatric dentistry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with children and families and work effectively in a team-based clinical environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, adherence to evidence-based practices, and meticulous attention to safety, infection control, and ethical standards.
