The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations for a fast-paced personal care contract manufacturing environment. This position will ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and alignment with internal controls while supporting operational decision‑making. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Production, Supply Chain, and Quality—to ensure accurate cost tracking, timely month‑end close, and effective financial analysis that supports the company’s growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Support annual audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and liaising with external auditors.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and production data to ensure accurate product costing and margin analysis.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to monitor inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain and reconcile standard cost models for raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods.
- Prepare cost analysis to support pricing strategies, new product launches, and make/buy decisions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in financial operations.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to management to aid in decision‑making.
- Support ERP system enhancements and ensure data integrity within financial modules.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment (personal care, cosmetics, or consumer goods experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑department collaboration.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
- Office‑based with routine interaction with production and warehouse operations.
- May require occasional extended hours during month‑end close, audits, or special projects.
