Associate Accountant

Job Description

Department: Finance / Accounting

Reports To: Controller

Position Summary

The Associate Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting functions of an innovative medical technology company. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month‑end close, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of working in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
• Support inventory accounting and cost tracking (experience in manufacturing or medical devices is a plus)
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Provide support during audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including operations, supply chain, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Basic understanding of GAAP principles
• Experience with accounting software – Quick Books Online a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and data analysis)
