Payroll Specialist/Bookkeeper for a small construction company.
Job Description- Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including field and office staff
- Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data
- Review and verify employee timecards, including job cost coding and project allocations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including prevailing wage requirements (if applicable)
- Assist with audits, including workers’ compensation and union audits
- Process employee benefit deductions (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.)
- Assist with payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- 3-4+ years of payroll, bookkeeper or office management experience (must have payroll)
- Experience with ADP, Paychex, or similar payroll software
- Construction industry experience (bonus)
