Job Overview
The Limited Energy Project/Account Manager position is responsible for overall administration, planning, installation, and reporting for small or larger, more complex low voltage electrical construction projects. This position interfaces with designers, project managers, general foremen, customers, installation crews and others to resolve issues throughout the project. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of limited energy projects, including creation of project BOMs, material orders, and directing the installation of these systems.
This individual will also maintain existing accounts in the market as well as establish new relationships and sales opportunities.
- Maintain and develop customer relationships to secure future business.
- Communicate with clients to ensure their needs are understood and addressed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that customer requests are fulfilled.
- Direct and supervise General Foremen, Foremen, and their crews in a manner compliant with contracts, union agreements, and company policies.
- Manage assigned projects as economically as possible while recognizing commitment to quality workmanship, positive industry image and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare, process, and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and billing necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract.
- Direct the planning of the project through purchasing, engineering, subletting and installation.
- Provide owner training on utilization of systems installed by the company.
- When necessary, work with a team during the bidding process.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of related work experience in the security installation field.
- Experience with AutoCAD or REVIT for engineered document creation.
- At least 5 years of access control system programming experience (AMAG & Genetec Certifications required).
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in the electrical industry.
- Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of manpower and resources.
- Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish the work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand the scope of the contract documents and the scope of the electrical work to be performed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Blue Beam, and AutoCAD.
- Willingness and ability to train and educate assigned subordinates.
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines. Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. The position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary, and may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
