Summer in the Park (SIP) and Level Up!
Summer 2026
Pay: $18.39 per hour
Part-Time, Seasonal, Not Benefit Eligible

We’re seeking positive, enthusiastic staff with a variety of experience to help plan and lead summer recreational camp activities. Leading a small team, you’ll create a fun and inclusive summer camp experience for participants in our diverse community. Summer in the Park (SIP)

3 Team Leads will be hired for Summer in the Park (SIP), a recreational outside camp experience for kids 6-10 years old. Plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of recreational activities with a small team and provide a fun summer camp experience for all participants. In addition, the staff will coordinate set up, take down, and use of facility, equipment, and materials with a team.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-4:15pm

Level Up! - (SIP) for ages 11-14

1 Team Lead will be hired for Level Up! camp designed for older youth that enjoy summer camp experience. Plan, implement and lead recreation programs for middle school aged kids in a day camp setting. In addition, the lead staff will coordinate set up, take down, and use of facility, equipment, and materials with a team.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 12:00pm-4:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Lead a great team of summer program staff.
  • Plan, lead, and supervise summer activities for children and youth.
  • Work with all kids to promote learning and fun in a safe environment.
  • Organize the set up and take down of program materials and equipment.
  • Request supplies and materials as needed.
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group and with individual campers.
  • Answer questions and provide information to parents, camp partners, and members of the public.
  • Keep supervisor informed of any concerns related to the program.
  • Get to know your campers, play with them, and have fun!
  • Administer basic first aid as needed – training provided!
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Job seekers should be 18 years of age or older and have one (1) year of experience in Parks & Recreation.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers and program implementation.
  • Previous experience with a Parks and Recreation agency or related field/setting.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • One year of college coursework in recreation, education, event planning, or closely related field.
  • Previous experience in youth programs/camps.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Knowledge of Eagan Parks & Recreation Department and its programs.

Supervision

The Team Lead will be supervised by the Recreation Supervisor and be provided work direction from the Recreation Programmer(s) and Recreation Specialist(s). Team Lead will be responsible for work direction of other seasonal staff, leaders in training teen volunteers, and program participants.

Physical Requirements
  • While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk and hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
Working Conditions
  • Working conditions may include daytime, evening, weekend and holiday hours both indoors and outdoors.
  • Outdoor weather conditions may include sun, rain, wind, humidity, high and low temperatures, snow and other natural weather conditions.
