The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time academic orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty interest in orthopedic trauma at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure.

The ideal candidate will have fellowship training and expertise in orthopedic trauma care.

The Department is interested in candidates who will bring to their research, teaching, and/or service the perspective that comes from a nontraditional educational background or understanding of the experiences of those underrepresented in medicine.

Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research.

The ideal candidate will participate in research mentorship for medical students, residents, and faculty.

Faculty will be active in their national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents and faculty.

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME Orthopedic Surgery residency
• Graduate of an orthopedic trauma fellowship.
• Reliable clinician with sound judgment and technical expertise.
• Thorough and self-motivated.
• Education-focused and a creative problem-solver.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.
• Board eligible/certified.
• Licensed or ability to acquire Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure, and DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
• Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.

Pay Range:
This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $54,294. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
