Job DescriptionAs an Electrical Designer II (Eagan) you are the bridge between Estimation and Operations. The Electrical Designer will work with our Estimators, Pre‑Construction Team, Drafters, and Project Managers throughout the design phase until it is ready to hand off to our Operations team. KE performs Design Build projects, nationwide, in a variety of industries including Biodiesel & Ethanol production facilities, Grain storage, Fertilizer Terminals, Feed & Flour Mills, Dairy Processing plants, and Cement/Aggregate plants.
WhatYou'll Do
- Verify vendor quotes and provide submittal packages
- Participate in customer/client design review meetings and presentations
- Assist in leading/managing engineering needs to ensure final product matches the “KE‑Way” design
- Complete conceptual engineering and/or design for the following
- Sizing conduit/cable to serve electrical equipment such as MCCs, Switchboards, Panel boards, and Transformers
- Comprehend MCC BOMs and quotes to ensure that sizing, layouts, and controller types are accurate
- Comprehend Switchgear BOMs and quotes to ensure that sizing, layouts, and over current protection types are correct
- Build conduit cable schedules to serve
- Motors, Controls and instrumentation devices
- Branch Circuiting
- Low and Medium Voltage Distribution systems
- Act as a bridge from estimating to operations or concept to reality
- Experience with Blue Beam, Revit, AutoCAD, and Procore
- A knowledge of electrical construction practices or industrial electrical work. Commercial experience or industrial is preferred
- Knowledge of motor control devices such as VFDs, Soft Starts, Networked MCCs, and traditional across the line starters (not required)
- Experience with special systems such as
- Network cabling
- Instrumentation
- Fire Alarm
- Door access/Security systems

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 per year, which reflects a good‑faith estimate based on market data and internal equity.
