As a Field Engineer at PE Services, you’ll play a key part in supporting infrastructure projects from the ground up—literally. Whether it’s providing project documentation, material testing, or ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards, your technical expertise will help shape the roads and bridges that keep our communities moving. The person in this role will also act as the first line of contact with our clients and will be in the field 100% of the time during construction season.

Some Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Function as a Client Representative; keep in touch with past and current project staff and contacts.
  • Actively participate in the project and foster relationships with the project team.
  • Lead the project inspection team. Regularly communicate with project inspectors, contractor, and stakeholders to ensure project quality.
  • Input data from tests and inspection into the project database and generate reports for clients.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Perform and verify field measurements of completed tasks on the projects for reports, records, and payment.
  • Complete detailed records of inspections and test results for project documentation and historical reference.
  • Perform onsite sampling and testing of material such as soil compaction, aggregate, and concrete.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience and/or a degree in Construction Management
  • A strong understanding of math and science
  • Knowledge of construction safety principles
  • Familiarity with surveying and mapping techniques
  • Strong listening, speaking, and writing skills
  • The ability to think critically, troubleshoot operations, and provide meaningful feedback
  • A valid driver's license

The hourly rate for this role will be between $36 to $44 based on experience.
