Job Summary
Medline’s Advanced Design Center in Eagan, MN is a best in class medical device R&D and product engineering site focused on infection prevention in the operating room. The multi-disciplinary team delivers custom surgical sterile barriers for our OEM customers from prototype to commercial launch. Patient safety, regulatory compliance, and OR efficiency are paramount. In this role, you will analyze existing processes, develop solutions, and implement new processes to improve efficiencies and labor savings.
Manage multiple projects with medium to large scope.
- Develop & validate capable processes to meet design requirements through process characterization, custom fixturing and process monitoring.
- Support successful pilot manufacturing at takt time & yield targets.
- Analyze, review, and recommend technological solutions and innovative techniques to reduce Medline’s expenses and improve cost structure while maintaining or improving quality.
- Lead multiple medium scale projects from concept to realization involving individuals from multiple departments and disciplines.
- Support line transfer between facilities.
- Develop basic to medium sized project plans. These plans will include action steps, schedules, etc. to enhance ability to deliver quality projects on time and within budget.
- Develop and write functional requirements, test plans, and work with production issues.
- Conduct training, when appropriate, on manufacturing, quality assurance and/or engineering concepts and tools, including but not limited to inspection, measurement and test methods.
- Utilize warehouse management and labor management systems.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline. - Work Experience:
At least 2 years engineering experience. - Technical writing, research paper writing, and/or experimental design experience.
- Intermediate skill level in computer and systems use (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Medical device engineering experience preferred.
- Process validation documentation and execution, DOE (design of experiments) experience.
- Intermediate skill level with Solid Works, Minitab, SAP Medline Industries, LP.
The anticipated salary range for this position: $85,000.00 - $ Annual. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
