Radiology - CT Tech

Description:

Position available in Radiology specializing in X-ray and CT.

General certification requirements include BLS and ARRT (R).

CT experience is preferred, but not mandatory.

The department has one X-ray room, one portable X-ray, and one CT scanner.

Floating to cover various areas such as inpatient, ER, outpatient, and nursing home may be required.

Common imaging performed includes general X-rays, extremities, spines, chest, strokes, traumas, CTA, AAA dissection, and Dexa.

Experience in EKG is necessary and must be willing to learn.

Average number of scans per day can vary, with some busy days and some slower days.

The Electronic Medical Record system is Meditech and PACS is Merge Catapult.

Departmental equipment includes CT Cannon Aquillon Prime SP and X-ray Carestream.

Will not be required to start IVs, but proficiency can lead to being signed off to perform them.

Shifts are typically 4 days per week, with variable start times of 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00, and the last clock-out at 5:30 PM.

Weekend call is required, consisting of one weekend call shift per month, from Friday evening to Monday morning.

Holiday rotation may be required.

Weeknight call is approximately once a week, with a response time of 15 minutes and should be within 20 minutes of the facility.

While on call, meal, room, and board are provided.

No specific scrub color is required.

The orientation process includes a manual for reference and a week of hands-on training with a preceptor.

After initial training, new personnel are expected to assist as needed with exams.

On-call duties begin three weeks after starting on-site.

Cancellation policy allows for one shift cancellation per week.

BSN is not required for this position.

Trauma Level: Care Setting is Acute.
