- Provide and coordinate care for patients across the continuum in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, podiatrists and other clinical team members
- Provide periodic outreach athletic training medical services to the community
- Perform rooming, age-appropriate vitals, medication/allergy/tobacco history review, and visit documentation
- Gather complete patient histories and conduct Reviews of Systems
- Perform initial patient examinations and summarize findings and test results for providers
- Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Provide patient care and education before and after encounters or procedures
- Coordinate care activities to support efficient patient flow
- Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and processing
- Administer therapies or treatments as directed
- Resolve service problems promptly and professionally
- Apply and remove casts and splints; fit DME and provide usage instruction
- Complete required documentation and billing paperwork
- Provide injury prevention and care to student athletes at practices and games
- Coordinate injured‑athlete clinical access and supervise conditioning or rehabilitation
- Develop rehabilitation plans and assist athletes through the injury rehabilitation process
- Assess, provide first aid and rehabilitate injured athletes
- Assess recovery and initiate changes in consultation with the care team
- Maintain records on students treated for injuries
- Provide care, self-care and follow-up information to athletes, parents, patients and families
- Maintain communication and physical referrals with other clinical areas and agencies
- Maintain a safe environment and report environmental risks or equipment malfunctions
- Provide outreach services that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in Athletic Training required OR Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training prior to 2022
- Basic proficiency in electronic medical record documentation
- Experience in an orthopedic, sports medicine, or outpatient clinical setting preferred
- Licensed Athletic Trainer - MN Board of Medical Practice required if providing services in MN upon hire
- Licensed Athletic Trainer - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required if providing services in WI upon hire
- Certified Athletic Trainer
- Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer required upon hire - Must meet at least ONE of: BLS certification from the American Heart Association; BLS certification from the American Red Cross;
Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently
- Floating/travel to other Allina clinics required
Demonstrates expertise in Athletic Training, including patient care coordination, injury assessment, and rehabilitation planning. Proficient in electronic medical record documentation and compliance with state licensing requirements.
