Job Summary
Working as a General Manager, will oversee all food service operations supporting and maintaining the account for the Minnesota Vikings and MV Ventures, including team and staff dining, concessions, premium hospitality, catering, and special events across the Viking Lakes campus. This leadership role is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest and client experience while driving operational excellence, financial performance, and team development.
The General Manager will lead all aspects of the food service program, ensuring alignment with organizational standards, client expectations, and strategic business objectives. This position requires a dynamic leader with strong experience in sports and entertainment hospitality, large‑scale event operations, financial management, and premium guest services.
- Oversee daily operations for all food service programs, including team dining, concessions, premium hospitality, catering, and special events
- Foster strong relationships with the Minnesota Vikings, MV Ventures, event partners, and internal departments to support seamless event execution
- Support and execute external catering events and campus‑wide hospitality initiatives
- Drive a culture centered around hospitality, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Manage employee meetings, reviews and training programs
- Manage in compliance with company established policies and procedures
- Manage in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Maintain food cost while ensuring quality standards
- Establish and maintain good rapport with staff, client and guest and other departments
- Manage financial acumen for all areas including financial reporting with sales reports, P&L reports, writing and adhering to annual budgets and cash handling
- Analyze and create trends for financial data
- Manage purchasing and inventory controls
- Plan menus in consultation with chefs
- Be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- Eight to ten years upscale food service experience, including six years’ experience at the management level
- Experience in concessions and catering events up to 6000 guests
- Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, evaluation and succession planning
- Proven track record to achieve company goals in compliance with company/client policies and procedures
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills, and must possess attention to detail
- Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills
- Effective problem solving and conflict management skills
- Ability to multi‑task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptions
- Experience in food purchasing, food costs and inventory control
- Ability to create budgets, flash reports, financial targets and forecasts
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reports
- Must be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of food
- Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving
- Exceptional business etiquette and client relations
- Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Strong catering experience required for both casual and C‑suite level plated events
- Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel and Power Point - Serv Safe or Department of Health certification a plus
