We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our growing organization. This role plays a key part in delivering full-cycle HR services, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, HRIS management, and multistate employment compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and committed to creating a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as first point of contact for employee enquiries
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt roles, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers.
- Support onboarding activities, orientation, and new hire setup
- Support payroll processing by preparing, reviewing, and validating employee data changes (new hires, terminations, compensation adjustments).
- Maintain accurate employee records and uphold data integrity across HR systems.
- Support administration of benefits
- Maintain and optimize the HRIS for accuracy, workflow efficiency, and reporting.
- Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with vendors on enhancements.
- Generate HR metrics and analytics to support business decisions.
- Assist in ensuring compliance of employment laws in Canada and the US.
- Monitor changes to legislation in multiple states and recommend updates to policies and practices.
- Maintain HR documentation and internal procedures
- Ad hoc items as required
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–5 years of HR generalist experience.
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws.
- Payroll experience an asset
- Experience with HRIS platforms
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with a high degree of accuracy.
