Drive and steer the new service development portfolio in GIS. Assess the new service development process in GIS for continuous improvement. Oversee the new service development projects in collaboration with the GIS account management group, the GIS service lines and the GIS supporting functions. Ensure new services are fully aligned with business needs, are fully supported by GIS Operations and Service Lines, and are introduced to succeed with fast and efficient service adoption.

Drive the strategic direction for new service development. Anticipate new service needs, analyze trends and propose new service opportunities. Partner with technology providers cross functional to ensure continuous up-to-date service portfolio. Act as a thought leader for service development. Take initiative to oversee and drive new service development projects forward. Demonstrate deep technical, analytical and conceptual knowledge of a variety of IT technology services.

Conduct research to stay up-to-date on state of the art technology developments. Realize the potential of IT Technology Services to the  and its clients business. Introduce new emerging technologies as services that have a potential to add value and optimize our business processes. Develop an environment which fosters high-performance and innovation. Ensure continuity in IT leadership and succession planning and be available for coaching in both functional and core competencies.

Serve as a mentor and role model. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and behavior in dealing with staff, colleagues, customers and outside contacts. Ensure compliance with Enterprise Architecture Standards. Ensure new service development meets customer needs (business, business IT and GIS customers). Ensure new service developments are prioritized and aligned with Novartis IT and GIS objectives.
