8‑hour shift scheduled between 6:30 AM CST and 6:00 PM CST. Non‑core hour support may be required on an ad hoc basis to support plant downtime, production events, or critical incidents.

Role Summary

The Manufacturing Systems & Technical Support Specialist (Contract) is a hands‑on, technical role providing onsite support for print manufacturing operations. This role works closely with onsite technical support, plant operations, and enterprise IT partners to support day‑to‑day manufacturing technology needs.

The contractor will focus heavily on computer and printer break/fix support, endpoint support, and manufacturing‑critical troubleshooting, ensuring production continuity, fast response times, and a strong onsite customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing & Plant Technology Support (Primary Focus) – Provide onsite, in‑person technical support for manufacturing users and plant‑floor technology.
  • Perform printer troubleshooting and break/fix support, including:
    • Diagnosing print quality issues, jams, and connectivity problems
    • Supporting industrial, enterprise, and label printers
    • Toner & drum replacement
  • Support and maintain print‑related peripherals and production‑adjacent devices.
  • Respond quickly to production‑impacting incidents, prioritizing plant uptime and operational continuity.
  • Support plant network connectivity (wired, wireless, segmented networks) to ensure reliable access for production systems and visiting users.
  • Desktop, Endpoint & Mobility Support
  • Deliver hands‑on desktop and laptop support for Windows environments (and macOS where applicable).
  • Perform software installs, updates, and troubleshooting, including manufacturing and enterprise applications.
  • Support Windows updates, Bit Locker issues, encryption recovery, and endpoint security troubleshooting.
  • Provide iPhone and mobile device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting in alignment with enterprise mobility standards.
  • Support peripherals including monitors, docks, scanners, keyboards, and badge readers.
  • Provide limited remote support when appropriate, while prioritizing onsite resolution.
  • Monitor the Helpdesk / Service Center ticketing system and respond to requests and incidents in a timely, professional manner.
  • Own issues through resolution, coordinating with enterprise IT teams and vendors as needed.
  • Accurately document incidents, fixes, and follow‑up actions to support knowledge sharing and trend analysis.
  • Track desktop, printer, and device inventory and maintain supporting records.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Support site‑based projects related to hardware refreshes, printer initiatives, software deployments, and technology improvements.
  • Assist with execution of technology changes that support manufacturing efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to process improvements and AI‑enabled support initiatives where applicable.
Qualifications (Required)
  • Hands‑on experience providing desktop and onsite technical support in an enterprise or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with printer troubleshooting, break/fix support, and hardware replacement.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, endpoint security, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices and end‑user hardware.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond calmly during production‑impacting events.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
Safety, Compliance & Operations
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment, including large equipment and production machinery.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, when supporting print operations.
