Position: #3 Operator in Bindery - 3rd Shift

#3 Bindery Operator

We are hiring a #3 Bindery Operator for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. As a #3 Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for performing set‑up tasks, monitoring equipment and troubleshooting on our Core Publishing Solutions team. For this role, you would also be eligible for a $2,500 sign‑on bonus upon being in the role for 90 days.

Hours of Work – Eagan, Minnesota

3rd Shift – 10:30 pm – 6:30 am. Occasional overtime up to 4 hours per day and occasional weekend shifts.

About

The Role
  • Review job specifications for material and set‑up requirements.
  • Perform set‑up tasks.
  • Monitor the equipment and product quality; obtain maintenance support for equipment as needed.
  • Perform simple to moderately complex trouble‑shooting related to product or equipment.
  • Communicate effectively during shift and at shift hand‑off.
  • Evaluate mechanical condition of equipment, complete preventative maintenance.
  • May use computer‑based workflow applications to manage files.
  • Accurately document activities on Tier Boards and in relevant systems (MII, SAP), i.e., material usage, equipment issues, etc.
  • May perform feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling or physical inventory cycle count activities.
  • Actively participate in company safety programs and contribute to a safe culture.
  • Meet or exceed established quality and productivity standards utilizing standard work procedures.
  • Generate, implement and sustain continuous improvement ideas.
  • Participate in project teams as needed.
  • Provide backup for other operators to cover absences or breaks.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
About You
  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher. Candidates with a vocational/technical degree are strongly preferred.
  • Good mechanical and technical skills, able to troubleshoot, and work independently and as part of a team to resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts and continuous improvement.
  • Competent with rulers and measurement.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience on Perfect Binders with up to 40‑station collators, 3‑knife trimmers, inline boxing and palletizing.
  • Experience with hard‑cover casing‑in lines, collating/kitting lines with up to 30 streamfeeder stations, packaging/cartooning lines, Sitma mail lines, Aster sewing equipment and hot foil stampers.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and production orders.
  • Can regularly lift at least 5 lbs above the shoulder as well as push, pull and lift at least 10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Can regularly stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach and kneel.
  • Can wear personal protective equipment including steel‑toe shoes and ear protection.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. For this U.S. location, the base compensation hourly range is $18 USD – $34 USD. Base pay is determined based on factors including individual knowledge, skills and experience and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for an annual bonus.
