Deputy Software Manager & PTR Lead

Leidos is seeking a Deputy Software Manager & PTR Lead who will lead a dynamic team working on the development of software that improves aircraft runway and terminal congestion. Nationwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. The FAA Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) is the surface management solution that will provide Next Gen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).

• Work with developers to ensure on‑time deliveries; staff accordingly to workload
• Manage cross‑team dependencies by identifying and helping resolve them in a timely fashion
• Lead productivity improvements
• Ensure PTR management across JIRA and AIMs
• Attend FAA PTR meetings to ensure current status of PTRs
• Track and report Software Engineering status, generating detailed test reports and artifact packages for stakeholders and clients
• Manage and track schedules, risks, opportunities, defects, change requests, and action items
• Facilitate planning meetings, peer reviews, and customer‑facing sessions to align with SW objectives and schedules
• Write succession planning, development plans, and appraisals of staff

• Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Experience with Jira and AIMs
• Air Traffic Knowledge and experience working on Air Traffic programs
