Overview
We are hiring a #3 Bindery Operator for our printing plant team in Eagan, Minnesota. The position involves performing set‑up tasks, monitoring equipment, and troubleshooting on the Core Publishing Solutions team. You will support production quality and maintenance through effective communication during shifts and shift hand‑offs.
Shift• 3rd
Shift: 10:30pm – 6:30am
• Occasional overtime up to 4hours per day and occasional weekend shifts
- Review job specifications for material and set‑up requirements
- Perform set‑up tasks and monitor equipment and product quality
- Obtain maintenance support for equipment as needed
- Conduct simple to moderately complex troubleshooting related to product or equipment
- Communicate effectively during shift and at shift hand‑off
- Evaluate mechanical condition of equipment and complete preventative maintenance
- Use computer‑based workflow applications to manage files
- Accurately document activities on Tier Boards and relevant systems (MII, SAP), including material usage and equipment issues
- Perform feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling, or physical inventory cycle‑count activities as needed
- Actively participate in company safety programs and contribute to a safe culture
- Meet or exceed established quality and productivity standards utilizing standard work procedures
- Generate, implement, and sustain continuous improvement ideas
- Participate in project teams as needed
- Provide backup for other operators to cover absences or breaks
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher (vocational/technical degree strongly preferred)
- Good mechanical and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Lean concepts and continuous improvement
- Competent with rulers and measurement tools
- Strong communication skills
- Experience operating Perfect Binders with up to 40‑station collators, 3‑knife trimmers, inline boxing, and palletizing
- Experience with hard‑cover casing‑in lines, collating/kitting lines up to 30 station stream feeders, packaging/cartooning lines, Sitma mail lines, Aster sewing equipment, and hot‑foil stampers
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders
- Physical capability to lift at least 5lbs. above the shoulder, push/pull and lift 10lbs. occasionally up to 50lbs., and stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach, and kneel regularly
- Wearing personal protective equipment, including steel‑toe shoes and ear protection, is required
• Base hourly wage: $21.00 – $39.00 (USD) depending on location
• Shift differentials: 2nd shift +$4.00/hour, 3rd shift +$5.00/hour
• Annual bonus potential based on enterprise and individual performance
• $2,500 sign‑on bonus after 90 days in the role
• Eligible for a 90‑day sign‑on bonus of $2,500 upon meeting the initial timeframe
