What Our Kennel Assistants Do

As a Kennel Assistant, you’ll help provide attentive daily care to hospitalized and boarding pets while supporting the cleanliness and organization of the hospital.

Responsibilities include:

  • Feeding animals according to their individual care instructions
  • Supervising play groups
  • Cleaning and maintaining kennels
  • Keeping clinic areas clean and sanitary
  • Monitoring pets for changes in health or behavior
  • Administering medications as directed
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Following written care instructions closely
  • Helping maintain a safe environment for animals and team members
  • Communicating concerns about a pet’s health or behavior to the appropriate team member
  • Supporting the team with daily kennel and animal-care responsibilities
  • Providing compassionate and respectful care to every pet
