Job Description

Summary:

The VDC Standards & Quality Specialist supports the technical excellence, consistency, and constructability of the department’s Revit-based deliverables for electrical construction. Reporting to the VDC Process Manager, this role assists in applying quality standards, monitoring model health, and optimizing department workflows. The Specialist conducts lifecycle QC checks throughout the project duration to ensure models are accurate, standardized, and coordinated long before they reach the jobsite or downstream consumers.

This position blends technical auditing, process documentation, and designer support. The Specialist helps document and support the adoption of new software rollouts by translating defined workflows into clear, usable standards. The Specialist has the authority to stop deliverables when established quality benchmarks are not met, enhancing collaboration between teams internally and with external customers to ensure accurate, quality models are delivered.

  • Support the documentation and rollout of new workflows and software initiatives, ensuring clear guidance is available to end users.
  • Collaborate with the VDC Process Manager to test and implement updates to templates, standards, and file organization.

  • Participate in coordination routines, including issue tracking and resolution follow‑up.
  • Assist in maintaining coordination expectations and documentation across projects.
  • Coordinate with the Revit content creation process to align QC findings with automation opportunities and content standards.
Data Reporting & Enablement
  • Track quality metrics and production trends (e.g., common defect types, rework drivers) to support department reporting and improvement efforts.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to designers to reinforce standards and improve modeling practices.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and workflow optimization.
