Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer

Location: Eagan, Minnesota (On-site)

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer for an IoT software development team. This role focuses on hands‑on development for on‑premise laundry solutions, working with sensors in washing machines that measure waterflow, temperature, and energy usage. The position involves architecting, designing, and developing full‑stack software applications with a heavy focus on sensor connectivity.

• Engage in hands‑on development, physically working with machines and sensors in a lab environment to test cycles and functionality.
• Develop code, support architectures, document designs, and create proofs of concept for dispensing and IoT equipment systems.
• Work cross‑functionally with other development teams and stakeholders to document system requirements.
• Integrate software with hardware developed by other internal divisions.
• Participate in an Agile/SCRUM software development process.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar technical field is required.

Experience: 5 or more years of hands‑on, relevant software development experience is required. The candidate must be proactive and able to work independently.

• Experience with Embedded Linux, specifically Yocto Linux.
• Proficiency with serial communication protocols, including UART, SPI, and I2C.
• Experience with ARM‑based microcontrollers.

• Experience with Bluetooth.
• Experience with embedded RTOS.
• Familiarity with Mod Bus and CANBus protocols.
• Experience with bare‑metal development.
• Similar domain experience.
