Non-contract – No Benefits.

The Office Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to school site personnel, performing functions specific to site administrator assignments (e.g., career/college specialization), communicating information to staff and the public, providing necessary implementation of functions, keeping complete and accurate records, and supplying requested information and direction.

Essential Functions
  • Answers telephone calls, screening, transferring, responding to inquiries, and taking messages.
  • Assists with processing documents, forms, mailings, and materials (e.g., attendance, enrollments) to disseminate information to appropriate parties.
  • Attends department and in-service meetings to gather required information.
  • Collects payments for events (e.g., fines, fees, fundraisers) to complete transactions and secure funds.
  • Distributes materials (e.g., mail, checks, supplies, messages) to ensure delivery.
  • Implements processes and projects (e.g., college and career procedures, site projects) to ensure implementation of site activities and processes.
  • Implements site processes (e.g., discipline issues, subject area assignments, safe space for students, bus coordination, substitute teachers) to provide up-to-date information and historical reference according to administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and materials (e.g., forms, office supplies) to ensure availability.
  • Monitors students referred for illness or disciplinary action by observing behavior and collaborating with counselors to ensure student welfare and secure office environment.
  • Prepares standardized documents (e.g., form letters and memos, calendars, bulletins) to communicate information to other parties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Age 16+
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Job related experience is desired.
