Job Title:
Electrical Engineer – Power Commissioning
Location: Eagle Mountain, UT – Onsite
Duration: 24 Months
About the RoleJoin a high‑impact team driving power innovation and energy system commissioning. As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable startup of power systems through hands‑on testing, validation, and troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting‑edge energy infrastructure in a dynamic, field‑based environment.
What You’ll Do- Lead and support electrical commissioning, startup, and system turnover activities
- Test and validate power equipment including switch gear, transformers, and generators
- Perform and oversee electrical testing (insulation resistance, relay testing, functional checks)
- Support pre‑commissioning tasks such as loop checks and calibration
- Validate power system studies and ensure readiness for energization
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (construction, controls, operations)
- Troubleshoot and resolve field issues during commissioning
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and safety standards
- Support integration of power generation and energy storage systems
- Maintain documentation (test records, reports, turnover packages)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, or commissioning
- Knowledge of power equipment (switch gear, transformers, generators)
- Experience reading electrical drawings and one‑line diagrams
- Familiarity with commissioning, testing, and startup processes
- Experience with tools like ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, or MATLAB
- Knowledge of protection relays and electrical testing equipment (Omicron, Megger, Doble)
- Understanding of arc flash analysis and protection coordination
- Exposure to SCADA/DCS systems and grid integration
- Field‑based role supporting active construction and commissioning sites
- Hands‑on work in industrial environments with strict safety standards
