Job Summary/Basic Function The successful applicant will assist Athletic Training & Occupational Therapy faculty members with serving as a standardized patient in the Masters of Athletic Training (MSAT) program and Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program. These efforts require good communication and feedback skills with the faculty and students. Hiring priority will be given to students who have completed the course “RHS 3505:
Standardized Patients”.

Specific Duties
  • Training on standardized patient cases
  • Portraying a standardized patient for MSAT & OTA simulations
  • Providing feedback to MSAT & OTA students on their communication skills with you as a patient

** This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

Must be an undergraduate student in good standing with the University (minimum of 2.0

GPA) continuously enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours (9 credit hours for graduate students).

Preferred Qualifications

Junior, or Senior student with aGPAof 3.0 or higher; computer, and technology skills; proficient in MS word, excel; completed RHS 3505; communicate and work well with faculty and students.

Eligibility and Additional Requirements

Due to the Affordable Care Act ( ACA ), individuals who have worked in a salaried capacity for Weber State University are ineligible to be hired as an hourly or adjunct employee at Weber State for six months.

Criminal Background check is required as a condition of employment.

Walking and standing only occasionally if ever., Light work. Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than that for sedentary work.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision.

The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.

None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
