Business Central Consultant

We are looking for a Business Central Consultant who deeply understands how professional services organizations operate and manage profitability. In this role, you will own the functional and financial configuration of BC implementations for our services clients.

• Hands-on with Dynamics 365 Business Central (or NAV) in a consulting/implementation capacity
• Solid accounting fundamentals: double-entry, GL structure, AR/AP cycles, period close, financial statements — enough to hold a credible conversation with a firm controller
• Demonstrated BC data migration experience (Configuration Packages, Rapid Start, or equivalent)
• Technically fluent: data structures, field mapping, reading integration/API documentation, reasoning about how BC exchanges data with other systems
• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders

• Configure BC financials for law firm operations: chart of accounts, posting groups, dimensions (matter, timekeeper, practice area, office), AR/AP, bank and payment setup
• Design and validate trust accounting handling — IOLTA and client trust accounts, retainer/advance tracking, trust-to-operating transfers, three-way reconciliation
• Model client cost advances (hard and soft costs), WIP, unbilled time, and matter-level profitability inside BC's structures
• Assist with data migration:
  Configuration Packages, master data loads, opening balances, historical transactions, trust balances
• Run client-facing sessions — requirements, design review, UAT, training with firm administrators and controllers
• Document configuration decisions and build repeatable patterns across firms Nice to have
  • Familiarity with AL/extensions — enough to scope customization even if not writing it
  • Prior Microsoft partner or MSP experience
