Production Manager
General Supervisor
The General Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation and performance of an assigned business area, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This position provides leadership, direction, coaching, and support to Production Supervisors and Team Members to achieve operational, quality, safety, and productivity objectives.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations; monitoring attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives; promoting employee engagement and innovation; and identifying opportunities to improve operational performance. The General Supervisor analyzes complex operational issues, develops recommendations, and collaborates with plant leadership to implement effective solutions.
This role is accountable for maintaining compliance with USDA, OSHA, federal, state, and company regulations while driving results in safety, quality, production yields, labor management, staffing, employee relations, retention, discipline, payroll accuracy, and production efficiency. The General Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision, development, coaching, and performance management of Production Supervisors.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Plant Manager.
Requirements:
- Education:
post-secondary education, specialized training, vocational certification, college coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. - Experience:
minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or processing operations. Strong knowledge of production processes, product yields, quality standards, and USDA and OSHA regulations. Previous supervisory or management leadership experience preferred. - Computer
Skills:
excellent computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, manage electronic records, and learn plant-specific systems and software. - Communication
Skills:
excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Team Members, Production Supervisors, management, and external stakeholders. Ability to deliver training, coaching, performance feedback, and operational updates clearly and professionally.
Travel: as required.

Internal requirements: cannot have 6 attendance points or more. Cannot have suspension in the last 12 months.
This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations and external candidates will then be reviewed for consideration.
