Position OverviewThe ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and managing the preventive maintenance of company vehicles, trailers, waterproofing pumps, and construction equipment. This individual must be organized, accountable, proactive, and capable of working professionally with foremen and field crews while holding them accountable for equipment care and maintenance requirements. This position requires someone who takes initiative, identifies problems before they become costly breakdowns, and creates a culture of equipment responsibility throughout the company.
Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain company trucks, trailers, waterproofing pumps, generators, and construction equipment.
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
- Maintain maintenance schedules, service records, and equipment documentation.
- Track equipment condition, service intervals, repairs, and replacement needs.
- Coordinate inspections, registrations, and compliance requirements.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and prioritize repairs efficiently.
- Organize and manage inventory of parts, tools, fluids, and maintenance supplies.
- Work closely with foremen and field crews to ensure proper equipment care.
- Implement and manage an equipment certification and training program focused on equipment care, safe operation, and accountability.
- Hold crews accountable for reporting equipment issues and completing required inspections.
- Identify recurring problems and implement long-term solutions.
- Recommend equipment repairs, upgrades, and replacement plans.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Assist with budgeting and cost-control efforts related to fleet and equipment maintenance.
- Strong mechanical experience with diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Experience maintaining trucks, trailers, pumps, hydraulic systems, and construction equipment.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational issues.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively with management, foremen, and field personnel.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Self-driven and highly motivated.
