**** Yard Driver – Material Handling

** Safety is always FIRST with Tyson Foods and at Tyson, all Team Members are expected to practice safety standards, policies, and procedures.  All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Candidate will be responsible for operating a shag truck that places trailers in the correct dock door to be loaded or unloaded.
** Description
* * Candidate will be considered for Yard (Shag) Driver openings in any Material Handling department on Second (2nd) shift. Duties involve completing truck inspection sheets to ensure shag truck is operating appropriately. Inspecting the trailer before placing it in the correct door, verifying temperatures, fuel levels, ensuring seal is properly closed, placing chocks in front of trailer tires and jack stand beneath the trailer.

And Communicating any other issues to the supervisor.

Candidate may be required to perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.  candidate must be willing to bend, twist, reach and move around the department, must be able to frequently push, pull, lift, walking up and down stairs, and carry up to 40 lbs. and up to 70+ lbs. on occasion. Must be willing to work on extreme temperatures hot or cold.

Candidate must be willing to work up to 12 hour shifts and overtime and weekends if required. Specialized training for powered industrial trucks required to be qualified within Tyson Foods, Inc.

Work Schedule:

Wednesday (6 hours, 12:00 am to 6:00 am);
Thursday through Saturday (12 hours, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am)

* ** Basic computer skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Candidate must have at least six (6) months prior experience operating heavy machinery.
* Over the road experience preferred

This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
