Responsibilities
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting. Population includes adolescents, young adults, middle adults, mature adults, and geriatric groups. Communicates with physicians, the Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or co‑workers as appropriate about changes in a patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Must respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Is also able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
- Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Acquired Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six months of hire.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- Graduate of a state‑approved school of professional nursing practice and maintains current licensure in Texas.
