EMT or LVN

Grifols is a global healthcare company focusing on plasma‑derived medicines. We are recruiting a Center Medical Specialist for our plasma donation center.

Qualifications:

• Educationally qualified and legally licensed or certified in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Salary is based on licensure and experience.

• Perform physical examinations and collect medical histories to determine donor suitability.
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
• Warn donors of potential hazards and provide education regarding general health.
• Provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results.
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
• Assess any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability.
• Assist in employee training.
• Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.

• Work performed standing and sitting for up to 2–4 hours per day each.
• Requires bending and twisting of the neck up for 1–2 hours per day.
• Frequent hand movements and precise coordinated finger movements required.
• Work may involve squatting, crouching, occasional foot movement, and walking.
• Light lifting up to 15 lbs, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs; may reach below shoulder height.
• Hearing acuity essential.
• Color perception/discrimination, near vision, and far vision correctable to 20/30 and 20/100 respectively.
• Must communicate effectively and listen to instructions.
• Works independently and follows oral or written instructions.
• Adapts to variable demands and changing conditions.
• Relates sensitive information to diverse groups in a plasma center.
• Exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment.
• Exposure to extreme cold below 32°F in plasma freezers; personal protective equipment required.
